Our story
What if teaching wasn’t so dependent on knowledge? What if… teaching was about inspiring the student to learn beyond the confines of the curriculum? To be passionate about learning?
That’s what our motto means. To be passion-perfect means to do things because we’re passionate about them.
For our learners
...to learn because they’re passionate about what we’re learning about.
For our educators
...to guide our students because they’re passionate about guiding students to excellence in what they do.
For Firefly Academia
...to venture into new territory because we’re passionate about finding better ways to inspire a new generation of lifelong learners.
In 2022, we founded Squirrel Academia. Squirrels represented the unbounded curiosity that we wanted our students to possess.
We began with one student, tutoring him secondary-level Science. Within the next two years, the number of students we have guided grew into the double-digits.
We rebranded our passion project into Firefly Academia in 2024. Fireflies represent the undying passion that we want everyone — learners, educators, supporters — to hold close to their hearts.
Passion project? Passion-perfect.
As of 2024, Firefly Academia is an ACRA-registered entity, which allows us to germinate our passion-perfect ideas into reality.
One such passion-perfect idea is our founder’s brainchild: Centre Stage. Our flagship public speaking masterclass only exists because our founder wanted it to exist, to inspire more people to take on the art of public speaking.
